Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Water Industry Worker 1 - Labourer to join the City Water team on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours per week). The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, construction support, and assisting with water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Redland City’s networks.

You will work in a hands-on, field-based setting, operating tools and small plant, and ensuring tasks are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction or labouring experience in outdoor work.
• Willingness to learn and build skills.
• Experience outdoors with manual labour including confined space entry and traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with construction, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Operating tools and equipment safely in a field-based environment.
• Performing manual labour tasks, including confined space entry and traffic management.
• Following health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Working collaboratively to deliver tasks safely, efficiently, on time.
• Providing professional customer service and communicating clearly with customers.
