Job summary

Northern Territory Government is seeking a Water Engagement Officer in Palmerston to lead stakeholder engagement and communications for water planning across the Territory. You will support the Adelaide River Water Allocation Plan and translate complex water concepts for a broad audience.

The role requires experience in stakeholder engagement, cross-cultural communication, and strong negotiation skills, with a current C-class driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering stakeholder engagement activities.
• Understanding of cross-cultural engagement in the NT.
• Analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to translate complex water concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder engagement activities aligned with IAP2 principles.
• Develop and deliver communication strategies for water planning across the NT.
• Build and maintain relationships with community, industry, government and Aboriginal stakeholders.
• Translate complex water management concepts into clear information for diverse audiences.
• Support consultation activities for the Adelaide River Water Allocation Plan.
• Contribute to culturally informed engagement approaches.
