Job summary

Tooleys Waterblasting is seeking a Water Blaster - Ultra High Pressure to join our team on a casual basis, leading to full-time for the right person. Based in Portsmith, Cairns, QLD, this role involves operating and maintaining ultra-high-pressure equipment to clean, prepare and restore surfaces for industrial, civil, commercial and marine clients across the region.

You will work outdoors in a tropical climate, undertaking diverse projects while following safety protocols and using PPE.

Qualifications

• Valid High Pressure Water Blasting Operator Ticket.
• Experience with vacuum trucks preferred.
• Confined Space Entry certificate preferred.
• Truck license preferred.
• Physical fitness to work outdoors in tropical climate.
• Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Prior knowledge of safety procedures for waterblasting operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultra-high-pressure waterblasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean surfaces.
• Operate hydrodemolish concrete with high-pressure systems.
• Operate, drive and maintain vacuum truck and other company vehicles.
• Prepare work areas, assess surface conditions, and identify hazards.
• Follow client specifications to blast surfaces to required standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Clean and maintain work site and equipment; perform other tasks as required.

Tooleys Waterblasting is seeking a skilled Water Blaster - Ultra High Pressure to join our team on a casual basis, leading to full-time for the right person. Based in Portsmith, Cairns, QLD, this role is fundamental to delivering our high-quality waterblasting services to clients across the region. As a Water Blaster, you will operate and maintain ultra-high-pressure equipment to clean, prepare, and restore surfaces for industrial, civil, commercial and marine clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

Operate ultra-high-pressure waterblasting equipment safely and efficiently to remove dirt, contaminants, rust, paint, coatings and other debris from various surfaces

Operate ultra-high-pressure waterblasting equipment safely and efficiently to hydrodemolish concrete

Operate, drive and maintain vacuum truck, along with other company vehicles

Prepare work areas, including setting up equipment, assessing surface conditions, and identifying potential hazards

Follow detailed work specifications and client requirements to ensure surfaces are blasted to the required standard

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of waterblasting equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety

Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices

Clean and maintain work equipment and the work site, leaving areas in a professional condition

Various other tasks required to perform job specifics.

What we're looking for

Demonstrated knowledge of different waterblasting techniques and their applications to various surfaces

Proven experience operating ultra-high-pressure waterblasting equipment in commercial or industrial settings

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on equipment

Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to waterblasting operations, including hazard identification and risk management

Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods in a tropical climate

Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to achieve high-quality results

Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude towards work

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different job sites as required

High Pressure Water Blasting Operator Ticket

Vacuum truck experience preferred

Confined Space Entry certificate preferred

Truck License preferred
