A local agricultural company in Tongala is seeking a full-time specialist to manage irrigation and fertigation systems. This role offers a modern working environment, opportunities for personal growth, and involves calibrating sensors and maintaining essential systems. Ideal candidates will have experience with irrigation in dairy or cropping and be fit enough to manage 25kg fertilizer bags.
I can picture it now. You’re out there, rain or shine, mud-splattered and sunburnt, wrestling with irrigation systems that don’t give much back. It’s relentless. You’re keeping systems alive while the weather tries to break them. You’ve got skills, but right now, they’re going to waste.
Now picture this instead: a full-time role, working inside an undercover glasshouse where things are clean, calm, and built to perform. You’re surrounded by good people, not egos. You’re doing work that matters, and you’re part of a business that’s still in its establishment phase meaning there’s real space to grow.
This role could evolve into a grower position, or take you into other parts of the operation depending on where your interests lie. The job is about keeping their water and fertigation systems on point. You’ll be calibrating sensors, blending fertiliser, checking tanks, testing pH and EC levels, and making sure the growers have exactly what they need to deliver top-shelf tomatoes.
You’ll be the person behind the scenes making it all run smoothly and when things go off, you’ll be the one asking the right questions and fixing it fast. If you’ve worked with irrigation systems in dairy or cropping, you’re already bringing the practical foundation we need. You don’t need to be a chemist, but knowing your way around water flow, fertigation, and a few good tools will go a long way.
You’ll need to be physically fit enough to handle 25kg fertilizer bags and sharp enough to stay ahead of problems before they become them. This isn’t just a job, it's a launchpad. A real opportunity to move away from harsh conditions and into a modern environment where your work is respected, your voice is heard, and your future is wide open.
