Job summary

City of Coffs Harbour is seeking a Waste Officer to join the Waste Services Section. You will provide specialist advice across waste management programs, regulatory compliance and community engagement to ensure safe, sustainable and efficient waste services for the city.

The role involves project delivery, policy development and working with diverse stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and long-term community benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in environmental management, environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in project delivery and contract management.
• Experience supporting operational environmental activities and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice across waste management programs and initiatives.
• Support environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance activities.
• Contribute to strategic planning and project delivery.
• Assist policy development and community engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors and government agencies.
• Support continuous improvement and environmental benefits for the community.
