Job summary

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) in NSW seeks a Project Officer for Waste Infrastructure to deliver infrastructure and support feasibility assessments. The role is temporary until Nov 2028, full-time, based in Parramatta with flexible working options.

Salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 plus super. You will collaborate with government agencies, industry partners and environmental stakeholders to progress priority initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills to analyse complex issues and develop practical project solutions.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with government agencies, industry representatives and other stakeholders.
• Solid time management and organisational skills to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong presentation and communication skills to present advice and project information.
• Degree in chemical/civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, planning or relevant discipline.
• A current and valid NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel on NSW sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of projects that strengthen NSW's waste and circular economy infrastructure.
• Contribute to feasibility assessments and identify suitable sites for future infrastructure.
• Collaborate with government agencies, industry partners and environmental stakeholders.
