Job summary

Fairfield City Council is seeking a Waste Enforcement Officer to drive enforcement and education against illegal dumping and littering within the City. You will lead investigations, detect offences and deter non-compliant behaviour in line with the City Plan for a cleaner, greener Fairfield.

The role focuses on prevention, evidence gathering and representation of the Council in court where required, supported by a team that values community engagement and proactive enforcement.

Qualifications

• Experience with investigation procedures and legal reporting.
• Proficiency in covert and overt investigation techniques.
• Strong understanding of relevant enforcement powers and legislation.
• Ability to observe details, document accurately, interview witnesses and collect evidence.
• Experience preparing briefs of evidence and representing Council in court.

Responsibilities

• Lead enforcement and education programs to reduce illegal dumping and littering.
• Investigate, detect and deter environmental offences in Fairfield City.
• Implement key waste management initiatives aligned with the City Plan.
