Job summary

Council Jobs in Lane Cove, NSW, is seeking a role to support the Domestic Waste Service and help meet waste targets. You will assist the Waste Contract Coordinator, respond to customer requests, and drive education programs to improve recycling rates.

The role emphasises community engagement, development of educational materials for the new Food Waste service, and ongoing bin checks to understand service utilisation and issues. Hybrid options may be available.

Salary: $85,333.04 - $89,605.36 per annum + 12% superannuation

About the role

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Domestic Waste Service,which has a minimum of 3 contact points with every household in the LGA eachweek, and in helping Council to achieve our adopted waste and emissionstargets.

The key responsibilitiesof this role include;

• Supportingthe Waste Contract Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the Domestic Waste Service and in respondingto customer service requests.
• Deliveringwaste education initiatives and programs to ensure proper use of the service,maximise recycling rates, and minimise waste to landfill.
• Supportingthe roll-out of the new Food Waste service to meet the NSW state mandatethrough the development of educational and promotional materials, engaging withresidents, building managers, and strata, and conducting bin checks tounderstand utilisation of the service and address any issues.
• Conductingresearch to understand community needs and identify and implement strategies toengage the community in waste avoidance, recycling and reuse, and theprevention of illegal dumping.
