Job summary

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking a Waste Collection Officer to join the Waste Management Centre Team. The role drives and operates a waste collection vehicle, collecting household waste in Bathurst in accordance with statutes, regulations and council policies.

This permanent, full-time position reports to the Waste Collection Team Leader and offers a 38-hour work week with a rostered day off every three weeks. Salary is $1,118.30–$1,175.00 per week + 12% super.

Qualifications

• HR Driver's Licence required.
• Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge required.
• Experience operating tipping trucks required.
• Experience operating lifting equipment required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Strong commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a waste collection vehicle, collecting household waste in Bathurst.
• Undertake duties in the Waste Management Centre as required.
• Report to the Waste Collection Team Leader.
• Adhere to applicable statutes, regulations and council policies.
• Support safety and efficiency on daily routes.
