Overview

Watson is a family business with a great reputation in the local market. We have been based in Canberra for over 57 years and currently operate in Batemans Bay, Nowra, Tweed and the Riverina, with opportunities to expand on the horizon.

Our expansion plans are supported by our custom-built factory in Hume, Canberra, where our dedicated team produces our awnings, roller blinds, the ever popular Honeycombs and more - our full range includes internal and external blinds, security doors, shutters, curtains and awnings. We are the only business in the region to manufacture products locally and very proud to do so.

What are we looking for?

An experienced Warehouse Supervisor with a positive, can do attitude to own our inbound/outbound product and componentry activities.

It is a physical role involving forklift driving (both Multidirectional Electric and standard Gas), and requires strong organisational and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Receive deliveries from suppliers, receipt the deliveries in our product tracking software/CRM and ensure the right products are placed in the appropriate location in the factory and warehouse
• Moving and keeping bulk stock in a tidy and accessible manner, maintaining stock counts and updating Inventory Management Software (IMS)
• Relocating stock from warehouse to factories as per requests from production managers and production staff through our IMS
• Packaging, labelling and sending stock to suppliers and customers in a professional and timely manner
• Loading and unloading our internal truck deliveries
• Keeping all factories and warehouse clean and tidy at all times
• Report back to management with any issues and or suggestions for improvements

What you’ll bring

• Experience working in a warehouse / storeman role
• Forklift licence and experience working on both Multidirectional Electric and standard Gas
• The ability to work autonomously, as well as being a team player
• Effective communication is key

• Hold a full or P driver’s licence
• Have a positive attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
• Are hardworking and reliable with a strong work ethic

• Are able to problem solve on the go, but escalate issues if necessary
