Warehouse Forklift Operator - Dalby, QLD

• Seasonal cotton role with steady forklift work in a busy Dalby seed depot team
• Day-shift role supporting growers and agents through the busy planting season
• Hands-on depot role combining forklift work, dispatch and site maintenance tasks

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Forklift Operator to support a busy cotton seed depot in Dalby during the peak planting season. This hands-on role is based in a fast-paced agricultural environment where safe forklift operation, accurate order preparation and reliable customer service are essential. You will work closely with the depot team to keep daily operations running smoothly, preparing seed orders for growers and agents, loading and unloading stock, and maintaining a clean and organised workplace. During quieter periods, you will also assist with basic site, yard and shed maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be to safely and accurately prepare, move and dispatch seed orders while supporting the smooth operation of the depot. You will balance forklift work, manual handling, customer interaction and general site duties throughout the season.

• Receive seed orders by phone and email and prepare them by variety, treatment and quantity
• Pick and stack 20 kg seed bags onto pallets to complete customer orders
• Operate pallet-wrapping equipment to prepare orders for dispatch
• Label, organise and coordinate completed orders for timely collection
• Update computer systems to confirm order and collection status
• Operate a forklift to load seed orders for growers, agents and freight providers
• Safely unload incoming seed stock and move products within the depot
• Communicate with depot staff regarding stock levels, orders and priorities
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised shed and work area
• Complete basic yard work, cleaning and general site maintenance during quieter periods
• Competitive rate of $40.16 per hour plus penalty rates
• Approximately 6-8 weeks, depending on the planting season and order volumes
• Consistent schedule of 40 hours per week
• Regular forklift operation in a practical, hands-on depot environment
• Work with a supportive team during an important period for the cotton industry

Your Skills & Experience

• Current Australian forklift licence is essential
• Demonstrated experience operating forklifts safely and confidently
• Ability to regularly lift and stack 20 kg bags safely
• Good level of physical fitness for manual handling and warehouse duties
• Basic computer skills, including reading and sending emails and updating order information
• Confident answering phone calls and communicating clearly with customers
• Ability to complete docket slips, labels and order information accurately
• Strong attention to detail when picking, packing and preparing orders
• Reliable, safety-conscious approach and willingness to assist across the site
• Experience operating hydraulic forklifts, including Linde equipment, is highly regarded
