Job summary

Five Senses Education in Seven Hills, NSW, is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch children’s books and learning resources from our NSW warehouse.

You will work Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with a clear pathway to permanent employment. Forklift licence essential; MR truck licence preferred. Applicants should be reliable, detail-focused and able to lift boxes safely.

• Maintain an organised, safe warehouse with proper stock labelling.
• Prepare large school and booklist orders with the schools team.
• Safely operate a forklift and follow health and safety procedures.
• Occasionally deliver to schools (North Rocks and Tuggerah).

Job description

As a Warehouse Assistant at Five Senses Education, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching children's books, educational texts and learning resources from our Seven Hills NSW 2147 warehouse. It is crucial in making sure schools, teachers and customers receive the right orders, on time and in perfect condition.

We are looking for someone to work Monday to Friday (38 hours per week) with pathway to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

Receiving and checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies

Accurately picking, packing and dispatching orders for schools, retail customers and online sales

Maintaining an organised, clean and safe warehouse, including correct storage and labelling of stock

Working closely with the schools team to prepare large school and booklist orders, particularly during busy back-to-school periods

Safely operating a forklift to load, unload and move stock, and following workplace health and safety procedures

Making occasional deliveries to schools and other locations (North Rocks and Tuggerah)

About you

Previous warehouse, logistics or distribution experience (experience with books or educational products is a bonus)

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when picking and packing

Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines during peak periods

Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move boxes safely

Reliable and motivated person who is team-oriented

A current forklift licence (essential)

A medium rigid (MR) truck licence is highly regarded

Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems or barcode scanners are also an advantage
