Job summary

NSW Health at Prince of Wales Hospital is seeking a Wardsperson for the Spinal Unit. This permanent and temporary positions offer 38 hours per week, with a remuneration of $64,440.53–$64,891.88 per year plus superannuation, and a supportive hospital environment.

The Wardsperson will assist nursing staff, help with patient comfort and care, and work under a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work as an effective member of the team and under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work demands.
• Good knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Wardsperson in applying these principles.
• Commitment to the delivery of safe, compassionate and person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance to the nursing staff.
• Deliver patient assisted care and comfort under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Support patient needs within the Spinal Unit as required.
