Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) in New South Wales is seeking Wardspersons for casual roles to support daily ward operations. You will assist with patient transport, mobility, and general duties to keep wards safe, clean, and well-organized, enabling healthcare teams to focus on patient care.

About the Role:

The Wardsperson plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of hospital wards by providing essential non-clinical assistance to healthcare professionals and ensuring a safe, clean, and organised environment for patients. This position involves a variety of tasks, including patient transportation, equipment management, mortuary duties, and general support duties to enhance patient care and staff efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

Patient Assistance and Transportation:

• Safely transport patients to various departments within the hospital.
• Assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Work closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Respond promptly to requests and instructions from nursing staff and management.

Mortuary Duties:

• Assist with the transfer of deceased patients from wards.
• Liaise with funeral homes and other external agencies.
