Job summary

Access Aged Care is seeking a General Practitioner to provide on-site care within Residential Aged Care Homes in Rutherford and surrounds. This role offers weekday hours only with no after-hours requirements, supported by an Access Aged Care Nurse for rounds and follow-up care.

You will work with a consistent cohort of residents, delivering proactive, relationship-based care and coordinating with telehealth geriatricians and specialists to ensure smooth sessions and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner.
• RACGP or ACRRM Fellowship required (or nearing completion).
• Availability of 1–2 days per week, with opportunity to increase.
• Comfortable with technology, including system-based reporting and common clinical software.
• A personal laptop is required to perform the duties of this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site GP services within Residential Aged Care Homes in Rutherford and surrounds.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team including nurses, telehealth specialists and practice staff.
• Coordinate care plans, investigations and follow-up with homes.

About The Role

You will work with a consistent cohort of residents, allowing you to deliver proactive, relationship‑based care and build meaningful long‑term clinical relationships.

An Access Aged Care Nurse supports your rounds, residents and follow‑up care, helping coordinate care plans, investigations and communication with homes so your sessions run smoothly and efficiently.

Supported by telehealth geriatricians, physicians and specialists, you will have trusted backup for complex clinical decision‑making and preventative resident care - helping identify and address issues early, before they escape into avoidable deterioration or hospital presentations.
