Job summary

Access Aged Care is seeking General Practitioners to join our Queensland team, delivering weekly rounds in Residential Aged Care Homes. You'll build lasting relationships with residents, families and care teams while focusing on proactive, quality care.

This expressions of interest offers weekday hours only, with no after-hours, weekends or on-call requirements. An Access Aged Care Nurse supports your rounds, ensuring smooth care coordination and efficient follow-up.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner.
• RACGP or ACRRM Fellowship required (or nearing completion).
• Availability of 1 day per week initially, with opportunity to increase.
• Comfortable with technology, including systems-based reporting and common clinical software.
• A personal laptop is required to perform the duties of this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular weekly rounds within one or more Residential Aged Care Homes.
• Care for a consistent cohort of residents and build long-term relationships with residents, families and care teams.
• Coordinate care plans and follow-up with homes, with telehealth geriatrics and specialists as backup.

About The Role

Access Aged Care is seeking expressions of interest from General Practitioners to join our growing Queensland team.

You'll provide regular weekly rounds within one or more Residential Aged Care Homes, caring for a consistent cohort of residents and building meaningful long-term relationships with residents, families and care teams.

This opportunity offers weekday hours only, with no after-hours, weekends or on-call requirements. With dedicated after-hours support in place, you can switch off between sessions and protect your personal time.

An Access Aged Care Nurse supports your rounds, residents and follow-up care, helping coordinate care plans, investigations and communication with homes so your sessions run smoothly and efficiently.

Supported by telehealth geriatricians, physicians and specialists, you will have trusted backup for complex clinical decision-making and preventative resident care - helping address issues early, before they can-escalate into avoidable deterioration or hospital presentations.

While the pace of traditional general practice often requires clinicians to see high volumes of patients, our purpose-built aged care model is designed around quality, continuity and proactive care. Supported by dedicated nurses, streamlined operational systems and specialist collaboration, you'll have the time and support to build lasting relationships with residents and focus on what matters most - less paperwork, better medicine.
