Job summary

Access Telehealth is seeking a VR General Practitioner to provide on-site care within Residential Aged Care Homes in Geelong and Ballarat. The role offers a guaranteed daily rate with dedicated nursing support and no after-hours work, enabling predictable, person-centered care.

Sessions can start at 1 day per week with room to increase, supported by telehealth geriatricians and specialists to assist with complex cases and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner.
• RACGP or ACRRM Fellowship required.
• Availability of 1 day per week initially, with potential to increase.
• Comfortable with technology, including system-based reporting and common clinical software.
• A personal laptop is required to perform the duties of this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site care within Residential Aged Care Homes in Geelong and Ballarat.
• Work with an Access Aged Care Nurse for rounds, residents and follow-up care.
• Coordinate care plans, investigations and communication with Homes to ensure smooth sessions.
• Deliver proactive, relationship-based care with a long-term resident focus.

About The Role

Access Aged Care is inviting expressions of interest from General Practitioners to provide on-site care within Residential Aged Care Homes as we continue to expand across the Geelong and Ballarat regions.

Opportunities offer weekday hours only, with no after-hours, weekends or on-call requirements. With dedicated after-hours support in place, you can switch off between sessions and protect your personal time.

You will work with a consistent cohort of residents, allowing you to deliver proactive, relationship-based care and build meaningful long-term clinical relationships.

An Access Aged Care Nurse supports your rounds, residents and follow-up care, helping coordinate care plans, investigations and communication with homes so your sessions run smoothly and efficiently.

Supported by telehealth geriatricians, physicians and specialists, you will have trusted backup for complex clinical decision‑making and preventative resident care - helping address issues early, before they escalat…
