Medihouse Clinic Hallam is a modern medical practice located at 178 Princes Highway, Hallam, established in January 2018 by two experienced general practitioners with specialist qualifications. The clinic operates as a bulk billing practice and offers a range of on-site services, including Nursing, Pathology, Diabetes Education, Podiatry, and Physiotherapy. Medihouse Clinic focuses on building long-term relationships with patients and places patient care at the center of all practice activities. The clinic's opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, providing accessible care to the local community.

Role Description

The VR General Practitioner role is a full-time, on-site position based at Medihouse Clinic in Hallam, VIC. The practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services, including consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages. Daily responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, ordering and interpreting investigations, prescribing medications, coordinating care with on-site nursing and allied health services, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. The role involves participating in care planning, preventive health initiatives, and health education, while contributing to a supportive, patient-centered practice culture and collaborating with other clinicians to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical expertise in Medicine and Primary Care, with the ability to manage a broad range of presentations in a general practice setting.
• Experience or interest in Family Medicine, providing ongoing, holistic care across diverse patient demographics.
• Ability to work effectively with Nursing staff and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
• Commitment to Training and continuous professional development, including supervision or mentoring of junior clinicians where applicable.
• Current medical registration with AHPRA, VR status, and appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach and respect for diverse backgrounds.
• Competence in using clinical software and maintaining accurate, confidential medical records.
• Experience in or willingness to work in a bulk billing environment and familiarity with Medicare billing processes.
