Avant Services Co. Pty Ltd in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a VR GP for a long‑standing, doctor‑owned practice where continuity of care is valued and patients return to see you.
The clinic is AGPAL accredited with RACGP registration pending, supported by nursing, reception, on‑site pathology, and modern consult rooms. The role offers flexible full‑ or part‑time sessions, 70% of billings, and a guaranteed $200 per hour for the first three months, creating certainty as you establish
A practice where your patients come back to see you Imagine arriving at a practice where the reception team knows many of the patients walking through the door, the nurse understands who may need a little extra support and families return to the doctors they have come to know and trust.
For our client, this is what continuity of care looks like. This long established, doctor owned general practice in Melbourne's northern suburbs has cared for its community over many years, building relationships with patients across different stages of life and in some cases, across generations. Now, there is an opportunity for another GP to become part of that.
The practice is currently accredited with AGPAL and has also registered for RACGP accreditation, with approval currently pending. This reflects the practice’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of care and supporting the development of general practice, including future opportunities to contribute to GP training.
This isn't about opening another consulting room and hoping the patients will follow. Demand is already established, with patients sometimes waiting two to three weeks for appointments and an upcoming period of GP leave creating further need, particularly across women's health and family medicine.
Your morning might begin with a child you've seen before, followed by someone managing a chronic condition, a women's health consultation and then an older patient whose care needs a little more coordination. Around you is an established team that allows you to concentrate on being their doctor. Full time nursing support assists with care plans and health assessments, while established reception and practice management teams support the day to day running of the clinic. Pathology is onsite, recalls and reminders are already in place and the administrative systems behind the scenes are well established. The doctors practise independently, but not in isolation. The practice directors remain clinically involved and accessible, creating an environment where a conversation about a case or a second clinical perspective can happen naturally between colleagues.
The patient population is broad, with particular demand across women's health, mental health, family medicine, paediatrics, chronic disease management and older person care. There is also an opportunity for a GP with an interest in skin cancer or cosmetic medicine to complement existing services, but there is no expectation to bring a particular special interest. More important is finding someone who enjoys the breadth of general practice and values long term patient relationships.
Our client is initially looking for an experienced VR GP. Whether you're looking for a part-time arrangement or a fuller working week, there is flexibility to shape the sessions around the right fit. For the right GP, this could become the practice where patients start asking for them by name. The opportunity offers 70% of billings, together with a guaranteed $200 per hour for the first three months, providing some certainty while the incoming GP establishes themselves within the practice.
The mixed billing clinic also offers:
Our client isn't looking to simply add another GP to the roster. They are looking for an experienced VR GP who values continuity, enjoys genuinely knowing their patients and appreciates having experienced colleagues and a strong support team around them.
