Job summary

Metcash is seeking experienced Voice Pickers for Metcash Canning Vale in a casual, ongoing role. The role offers a $33.85 per hour rate plus allowances, with rosters of 3-5 days per week and potential to transition to Metcash employment after about 12 weeks.

You will work in a four-area warehouse, using a voice-directed picking system and EPJ/MHE where required. Tasks include safe handling, KPI-driven picking, and supporting other areas as needed.

Voice Pickers - Metcash Canning Vale | $33.85 p/h + Allowances | 3-5 Days | Permanent Opportunities

Labourforce is currently seeking experienced Voice Pickers to join our team at Metcash in Canning Vale.

About Metcash

Metcash operates a central warehouse and distribution facility in Canning Vale, supplying independent retailers across Western Australia.

The site distributes products to a wide range of customers, including IGA supermarkets, bottle shops, petrol stations, convenience stores, bars and restaurants.

The warehouse operates across four main areas:

• Dry Shed - Ambient, dry goods
• ALM Shed - Ambient alcohol distribution
• CSD Shed - Ambient products for convenience stores and smaller retailers
• Cold Shed - Chilled and perishable products

Team members will generally be assigned to one warehouse area, with a willingness to assist in other areas from time to time required.

What's on Offer?

• $33.85 per hour casual rate, including casual loading
• Early morning allowance for shifts commencing before 6am
• Rosters of 3-5 days per week, depending on the shed and shift availability
• A range of shift start times, including 6am, 8:30am and 1pm

About the Role

As a Voice Picker, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders using a voice-directed picking system.

Your duties will include:

• Voice picking orders using a voice-directed picking system
• Operating an electric pallet jack (EPJ)/MHE
• Picking products within your allocated shed
• Repetitive manual handling of products up to 30kg
• Working to pick rate KPI's
• Ensuring orders are picked accurately and efficiently
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised warehouse environment
• Assisting other warehouse areas when required

What We're Looking For

• Previous voice picking experience
• Recent pick packing experience within a busy warehouse or distribution centre
• EPJ/MHE experience preferred but not essential
• The ability to consistently meet picking KPI's
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer literacy
• The physical ability to lift up to 30kg repeatedly
• A reliable and positive attitude
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to assist in other warehouse areas when required
