Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect to help customers migrate VMware workloads to AWS and design resilient cloud architectures. You will work with AWS ANZ teams, own the technical engagement for migrations, and contribute to thought leadership through white papers and workshops.

Required: 5+ years IT/consulting, deep VMware skills, and strong cloud knowledge; ANZ impact and global AWS guidelines apply.

Qualifications

5+ years IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
Knowledge of cloud architecture and cloud infrastructure.
OS, hardware, storage, network, security, database administration knowledge.
Strong understanding of vSphere HA, vMotion, and DRS.
Knowledge of VMware vRealize and IaC concepts and tools.
6+ years with VMware technologies including vSphere, vSAN and NSX.
Familiarity with AWS services and cloud technologies.
Experience leading large enterprise transformations with AWS services.
Knowledge of Microsoft licensing and deployment tools (WSUS, SCCM, SCOM).
Knowledge of microservices architecture and modernization techniques.

Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance for migration of VMware workloads to AWS.
Engage with Sales, Solutions Architecture and support teams for customers.
Publish white papers and reference architectures.
Create workshops and breakout sessions for conferences and events.
Own the technical engagement for migrations and ensure secure, resilient architectures.
Collaborate with domain specialists across complex organisations.
