Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice to deliver inpatient, outpatient, consultative and telehealth services in Narrandera, NSW. The role emphasizes safe, patient‑centred care with involvement in quality improvement and clinical governance.

The VMO will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing supervision and leadership while supporting service improvement initiatives across MLHD’s regional health network.

The Visiting Medical Officer - General Practice will provide contemporary, comprehensive and high‑quality medical services that are safe, evidence‑based and patient‑centred. The role supports the healthcare needs of the local community through a broad scope of rural generalist practice.

You will provide inpatient, outpatient, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, telehealth and on‑call services as required. Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, you will deliver timely and effective patient care while contributing to clinical leadership, education and service improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant will actively participate in quality improvement, clinical governance and patient safety activities, provide supervision and support to junior clinicians and healthcare staff, and contribute to building a culture of excellence across healthcare services throughout the region.
