Job summary

Salhn is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist (Vitreoretinal Surgery) to join the Ophthalmology Unit at Flinders Medical Centre. The role covers outpatient, inpatient and operating theatre duties with a focus on complex retinal disease.

You will teach trainees, participate in clinical governance and collaborate with paediatric/neonatal eye care teams. Flexible arrangements and salary packaging are provided.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia as an Ophthalmologist.
• Demonstrated expertise in vitreoretinal surgery and management of retinal disorders.
• Experience teaching, supervising and mentoring trainee medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ophthalmology services with a vitreoretinal focus across outpatient, inpatient and theatre settings.
• Lead and participate in teaching and supervision of trainees and junior medical staff.
• Contribute to governance, quality improvement, research and continuing medical education activities.
