Job summary

Victorian School of Languages (VSL) invites qualified classroom teachers to join a government school program delivering language study to students across Years 1–12. Roles focus on planning, preparation and delivering language programs, with opportunities to contribute beyond direct teaching as experience grows.

Classroom teachers will teach diverse cohorts, engage in curriculum development, and collaborate with families and staff to support student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching; eligibility to teach in Victorian government schools.
• If you completed an Australian postgraduate initial teaching program after 1 January 2024, you must demonstrate accreditation by a state/territory regulator.
• Graduates after 2016 must satisfy the LANTITE literacy/numeracy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum.
• Undertake other classroom teaching duties and organisational tasks as directed.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake non-teaching supervisory duties as required.
