Job summary

De Bortoli Wines Pty invites applications for a Vintage Cellar Hand at our Rutherglen winery for the 2027 vintage. This hands-on role supports cellar operations across fruit receiving, must handling, and processing to ensure quality and safety.

You will work with a collaborative team, gaining practical experience with crushers, presses, pumps, and tank hygiene. Flexibility for long shifts and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of winery operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work up to 12-hour days, 5–6 days per week, including night shifts.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Safely receiving fruit into the crusher area.
• Transferring must, juice and wine as directed.
• Operating winery equipment (crushers, presses, pumps, clarification equipment).
• Cleaning and sanitising tanks and cellar equipment.
• Handling cleaning chemicals safely and wearing PPE as required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised work environment.
• Following all health and safety policies and procedures.
