Job summary

Viet's Roll Cleveland in Cleveland, Queensland, Australia, is seeking a skilled Cook for a permanent, full-time role. You will prepare and cook a range of traditional Vietnamese dishes, ensuring top quality and efficient kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate has a year of experience in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of Vietnamese ingredients and cooking techniques, and a strong commitment to food safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• A minimum of one year of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience in preparing and cooking Vietnamese cuisine, with a sound understanding of traditional Vietnamese ingredients, flavours and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and commercial kitchen operations.
• Ability to prepare multiple dishes efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, seasoning and cooking a variety of Vietnamese dishes to high standards.
• Prepare fresh ingredients including meats, vegetables and herbs for efficient kitchen operation.
• Cook broths, soups and grilled meats according to recipes and standards.
• Monitor quality, portions, temperatures and presentation for consistency across dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas and storage facilities.
• Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with menu planning, daily specials, and kitchen improvements.
• Train and guide junior staff in food prep and hygiene practices.
