Job summary

Greencross Pet Wellness Company is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse for a Float Nurse role, providing support across the hospital and stepping into different departments as needed.

You will assist the surgical team, monitor anaesthetics, care for hospitalised patients and respond quickly in emergencies, all while collaborating with a multidisciplinary nursing team to ensure excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
• Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse in Emergency/Referral or busy GP setting is preferred.
• Ability to work across different areas of a busy veterinary hospital.
• Demonstrated ability to stay calm, organised and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across the hospital by stepping into different departments as needed.
• Assist the surgical team and monitor anaesthetics.
• Support hospitalised patients and assist in emergency situations.
• Collaborate with nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Contribute to pathways for department cross-training and coverage.

As a Float Nurse you’ll provide support right across the hospital, stepping into different departments and working alongside the nursing teams wherever your skills are needed most. From caring for hospitalised patients, assisting the surgical team and monitoring anaesthetics, to jumping in when things get busy in emergency, you’ll play an important role wherever you find yourself that day!

What you’ll bring
