Job summary

Riverport Veterinary Hospital (Goolwa) and Victor Central Vet Clinic (Victor Harbor) are part of VetPartners and offer a casual Veterinary Nurse position on the Fleurieu Peninsula. You’ll assist veterinarians, help with anaesthesia and surgeries, and provide caring client communication in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
• Experience in a veterinary environment is preferred but not essential.
• Confidence across general nursing duties or willingness to develop skills.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians across consultations, surgery, and patient care.
• Assist with anaesthesia, monitoring, and surgical procedures.
• Provide compassionate care and clear, professional communication to clients.
• Support nurse consults and preventative care treatments.
• Perform general nursing duties including patient handling, admissions, and clinic support.

About the Role

We're looking for a Veterinary Nurse to join our team in a casual capacity. This is a varied role where you'll be supported to grow your skills while contributing to a team that prioritises both high-quality care and a genuinely enjoyable workplace. What you'll be doing:

• Supporting veterinarians across consultations, surgery, and patient care
• Assisting with anaesthesia, monitoring, and surgical procedures
• Providing compassionate care and clear, professional communication to clients
• Supporting nurse consults and preventative care treatments
• General nursing duties including patient handling, admissions, and clinic support
• Contributing to a Fear Free, low-stress environment for patients and clients
• Working flexible shifts across a supportive and well-connected team

What We're Looking For

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Experience in a veterinary environment (clinical experience preferred but not essential)
• Confidence across general nursing duties or willingness to develop skills
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care
