Wide Bay Vets in Hervey Bay, QLD, seeks a Veterinarian to enjoy a coastal lifestyle with meaningful clinical freedom. Work a mixed case load with dogs, cats, exotics, birds, and more in a well-equipped practice.

You'll be part of a supportive team with regular exposure to cases and opportunities to expand skills. The position offers hourly pay, with 4 weeks holidays prorated and a balanced lifestyle in a beautiful region.

Competenze

• Predominantly dogs and cats with regular exposure to exotics (birds, reptiles, small mammals)
• Wildlife cases and occasional small ruminants and pigs
• Wide case mix from routine consults to snake bites, tick paralysis and heartworm
• Access to CT within 1.5 hours for advanced imaging where needed
• Strong scope to develop medical and surgical skills (orthopaedics a bonus)

Mansioni

• 27 hrs per week (with some flexibility needed)
• 1 weekend in 3-4 (not every weekend)
• On-call Wed nights + 1 in 6-7 weekends
• 50% of professional fees after hours
• 2-3 vets on weekdays - you’re not alone

Here you will enjoy a proper mix of cases - dogs, cats, exotics, birds, reptiles, possums, kangaroo's and goats. With the nearest specialist a couple of hours away, you'll actually get to be the vet. Work cases up properly. Use the kit. Make the call. This place has a real 'family feel' about it, where everyone pulls together when there's work, and relaxes when it's time.

The clinic is well set up, digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, IM3 dental suite, full IDEXX in-house lab, with great nurses, and a practice manager who keeps everything in order.

The Role

• 27 hrs per week (with some flexibility needed)
• $70/hr + super. 4 weeks hols - prorated.
• 1 weekend in 3-4 (not every single one)
• On-call Wed nights + 1 in 6-7 weekends
• 50% of professional fees after hours
• 2-3 vets on weekdays - you're not alone

Clinical Exposure & Development

Great sporting clubs, good schools, parks and everything you need day-to-day, without the traffic or the city noise. Bundaberg is 1.5 hours away, the Sunshine Coast a couple of hours south, and Brisbane 3.5 hours when you need a proper city fix. There's even a local airport to make the getaways easy.
