About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this full-time Venue Manager role at Joe Taylor Bar in North Melbourne is an exceptional opportunity to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a new hospitality venue and contribute to its development as we open our doors. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the venue runs smoothly and profitably, while providing an exceptional experience for all customers.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Assisting higher level management set up this new venue including liaising with wine and alcohol suppliers
  • Overseeing all aspects of the venue\'s operations, including staffing, customer service, financial management, and compliance
  • Driving revenue and profitability through effective marketing and cost control
  • Ensuring the venue meets all relevant health, safety, and licensing requirements
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team of hospitality professionals
  • Fostering a positive, customer-centric culture and continuous improvement
  • Liaising with the broader management team to contribute to the strategic direction of the business
What we\'re looking for
  • Current Victorian RSA is mandatory
  • Completion of VCGLR “Licensees’ First Step / New Entrant” course highly regarded but not essential
  • Experience (2+ years) in a similar venue management role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyse and interpret data to drive business decisions
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and team-building skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Tertiary qualification in hospitality-related discipline highly regarded but not essential
