Job Overview The Vehicle Spray Painter is responsible for applying paint and finishes to vehicles in a professional and consistent manner. The role includes prepping surfaces, mixing paints, and ensuring all work complies with environmental and workplace safety standards.

Duties and Skills

  • Match paint colours using spectrometer or paint codes and mix accordingly
  • Apply undercoats, basecoats, and clearcoats using spray guns and booths
  • Conduct final finish repairs, polishing, and paint touch-ups
  • Ensure painted surfaces are defect-free and meet visual and texture expectations
  • Maintain paint booths and ensure compliance with environmental safety standards
  • Record material usage and maintain inventory of paint supplies
  • Adhere to work orders and ensure all work meets customer and OEM standards
  • Assist in training junior staff and apprentices
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure finish quality
  • Follow WHS protocols regarding paint and chemical handling
