Job summary

Kupper’s Contracting is seeking a reliable Vegetation Maintenance Operator to join our team in Kyneton, Victoria. This hands-on role covers mowing, brushcutting, roadside vegetation management and a broad range of maintenance tasks across roadsides, parks and open spaces.

Ideally you are physically fit, safety‑minded and experienced with vegetation and machinery. A current licence and willingness to operate a range of equipment are favourable.

Qualifications

• Experience operating commercial mowing and vegetation maintenance equipment.
• Good brushcutting and grounds maintenance skills.
• Experience with roadside vegetation, tree pruning or arboricultural works.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Ability to safely tow trailers and operate plant.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions and stay productive.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and safety awareness.
• Experience or qualifications in horticulture/arboriculture is useful.
• MR/HR licence and additional tickets are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Commercial mowing using front-deck, zero-turn and other mowing equipment.

• Operating tractors, slashers and other vegetation management equipment.
• Driving tipper trucks and towing plant and equipment.
• General grounds and open space maintenance.
• Completing daily pre-starts, site documentation and basic equipment maintenance.
• Working as part of a crew as well as independently when required.

Kupper’s Contracting is seeking a reliable and experienced Vegetation Maintenance Operator to join our team based in Kyneton.

We are an established vegetation, open space, arboriculture and road maintenance contractor servicing government, commercial and infrastructure clients throughout Central and Northern Victoria.

This is a varied, hands-on and physically active role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a practical team.

The role will primarily involve commercial mowing, brushcutting and roadside vegetation management, along with a broad range of vegetation and arboricultural maintenance activities across roadsides, parks, reserves, infrastructure sites and public open spaces.

The Role

Depending on experience and qualifications, your work may include:

• Commercial mowing using front-deck, zero-turn and other mowing equipment
• Brushcutting and general vegetation maintenance
• Roadside vegetation management and clearance works
• Tree uplifting and clearance pruning along roadsides and around infrastructure
• Hand trimming and pruning of trees, shrubs and roadside vegetation
• Operation of chainsaws, polesaws and chippers
• Street tree maintenance and establishment works
• Herbicide application and weed control
• Operating tractors, slashers and other vegetation management equipment
• Driving tipper trucks and towing plant and equipment
• General grounds and open space maintenance
• Working safely around roadsides, traffic, public areas and infrastructure
• Completing daily pre-starts, site documentation and basic equipment maintenance
• Working as part of a crew as well as independently when required

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, physically fit and takes pride in the quality of their work.

This is a hands-on and physically demanding role involving regular brushcutting, manual vegetation work, lifting, walking over uneven terrain and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Applicants should be comfortable undertaking physical work for extended periods and have a good level of fitness suited to the demands of the position.

Ideally, you will have:

• A good level of physical fitness and willingness to undertake hands-on work
• Experience operating commercial mowing and vegetation maintenance equipment
• Good brushcutting and general grounds maintenance skills
• Experience with roadside vegetation, tree pruning or arboricultural works
• A current driver's licence
• The ability to safely tow trailers and operate plant
• Good mechanical awareness and respect for machinery and equipment
• The ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• A strong work ethic and ability to work productively without constant supervision
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
• A strong approach to workplace safety

Experience or qualifications in horticulture, arboriculture, chainsaw operation, herbicide application, truck driving, traffic management or machinery operation will be highly regarded.

An MR or HR truck licence, ACUP/ChemCert, White Card, First Aid and relevant machinery tickets would also be advantageous, although applicants do not need to hold every qualification listed.
