Working within a strength based, family centred and culturally centred trauma informed approach, this role will provide therapeutic and casework services to adults and children who have been sexually assaulted, and their non-offending family members. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, this role will provide quality services to patients /clients of NSW Health to meet their health and wellbeing needs.
The role will partner with the local sexual assault service to develop a deeper level of awareness and understanding of how to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people who may engage with these specific services. Working towards cultural competence is a responsibility of all Violence Abuse and Neglect staff.
