Job summary

Emerson Electric Co. in Wangara, Western Australia, is seeking a Valve Assembly Operator to join our Isolation Valves team. You will assemble, test, and support the automation of valve and flow control products while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly, repair, refurbishment, or testing of industrial equipment, valves, or related mechanical systems.
• Read and follow technical drawings, work instructions and quality documentation.
• Ability to read quality plans and determine correct assembly procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, inspect, and test manual valves, automated valves, actuators, positioners, and other flow control equipment.
• Interpret drawings and quality plans to determine assembly procedures.
• Operate workshop equipment safely, including testing equipment and cranes.
• Perform product evaluations and troubleshooting to resolve quality or operational issues.
• Manage components and materials for assembly and testing activities.
• Support inventory accuracy by following stock procedures.
• Maintain records of work performed and quality documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, organized workplace and environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Participate in daily planning meetings and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with team members and escalate issues to meet customer and business expectations.

Working within our Isolation Valves team, you will contribute to the delivery of innovative flow control solutions, collaborate with skilled colleagues, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic workshop environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Assemble, inspect, and test manual valves, automated valves, actuators, positioners, and other flow control equipment.
• Interpret drawings, quality plans, work instructions, and technical documentation to determine correct assembly and testing procedures.
• Operate workshop equipment and tools safely and effectively, including testing equipment, drills, cranes, and other assembly-related machinery.
• Perform product evaluations, troubleshooting, and reporting to identify and resolve quality or operational issues.
• Select, verify, and manage components and materials required for assembly and testing activities.
• Support inventory accuracy by following established stock issuance and storage procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time reporting and quality documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, organised, and productive workplace through housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and adherence to environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Participate in daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with team members and elevate issues promptly to ensure customer and business expectations are achieved.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Experience in mechanical assembly, repair, refurbishment, or testing of industrial equipment, valves, or related mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Trade qualification in a mechanical or related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Experience working with flow control products, valves, actuators, or process industry equipment.
• Familiarity with quality assurance systems, procedures, and documentation.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Forklift licence, First Aid certification, dogging certification/VOC, or other relevant workshop certifications.
• Experience working in manufacturing, service, maintenance, or industrial workshop environments.
