Job summary

BlueRock is seeking penultimate or final year Accounting students for its vacation program in Melbourne. You will gain hands-on experience across divisions, work on BAS/IAS/FBT returns for small business clients, and assist with tax planning and client communication.

Qualifications

• Penultimate or final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar discipline.
• Desire to undertake CA or CPA qualifications.
• Experience in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements (BASs, IAS, FBT) and tax returns for small business clients.
• Support directors with financial modelling, tax planning and consulting projects.
• Review taxation notices and prepare client correspondence.
• Liaise with the ATO on client matters.
• Attend client meetings and development sessions with the team.
• Collaborate with other BlueRock teams to identify opportunities.

During the program, you will learn all about the many divisions at BlueRock, how to establish your personal brand and will be placed in one team where you will have exposure to:

• Preparing financial statements (BASs, IAS, FBT Returns) and income tax returns for small business clients (companies, trusts, partnerships)
• Supporting our directors with financial modelling, tax planning and consulting projects
• Reviewing taxation notices and preparing correspondence on behalf of clients
• Liaising with the ATO
• Attending client meetings with your team and attending learning & development sessions
• Working alongside other teams within BlueRock to identify opportunities to collaborate

• A strong desire to provide exceptional client service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in an easily understandable way
