Job summary

BlueRock in Melbourne invites penultimate or final year Accounting students to gain hands-on experience across advisory, tax, and financial services. You will rotate into one team, contribute to preparing statements and tax returns, and learn how to build a personal brand while you work with supportive mentors.

The program emphasizes collaboration, learning, and pathways to future opportunities at BlueRock.

Qualifications

• Penultimate or final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Interest in pursuing CA or CPA qualifications.
• Experience in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Strong desire to provide exceptional client service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements (BASs, IAS, FBT Returns) and income tax returns for small business clients.
• Support directors with financial modelling, tax planning and consulting projects.
• Review taxation notices and prepare client correspondence.
• Liaise with the ATO.
• Attend client meetings with your team and participate in learning & development sessions.
• Collaborate with other BlueRock teams to identify opportunities to collaborate.

During the program, you will learn all about the many divisions at BlueRock, how to establish your personal brand and will be placed in one team where you will have exposure to:

• Preparing financial statements (BASs, IAS, FBT Returns) and income tax returns for small business clients (companies, trusts, partnerships)
• Supporting our directors with financial modelling, tax planning and consulting projects
• Reviewing taxation notices and preparing correspondence on behalf of clients
• Liaising with the ATO
• Attending client meetings with your team and attending learning & development sessions
• Working alongside other teams within BlueRock to identify opportunities to collaborate

• Are in their penultimate or final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar discipline
• Have the desire to undertake further Accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA
• Experience and competency in Accounting or Finance area is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• A strong desire to provide exceptional client service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in an easily understandable way
