Job summary

Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking a UX/UI Designer (Design System Operations) to evolve a multi-brand design system across products. You will govern components, tokens, and guidelines while driving adoption through workshops and clear documentation.

The role requires advanced proficiency in Figma and Storybook, plus hands-on AI tooling experience (Claude). A strong grasp of WCAG, front-end basics, and governance will be essential in scaling our design systems across teams.

Qualifications

3+ years of design experience.
Experience leading a design system or contributing to a mature design system.
Advanced proficiency in Figma.
Experience using Storybook within design system environments.
Advanced understanding of design systems, governance, and scalability.
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude within design workflows.
Experience using metrics and analytics to benchmark and improve design system performance and adoption.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and WCAG compliance.
A solid understanding of front-end engineering principles.
An undergraduate degree in Design or Engineering with Design experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and continuously enhance a scalable multi-brand design system, including components, patterns, tokens, and guidelines.
Drive adoption of the design system through workshops, documentation, and clear usage guidance.
Partner with UX, engineering, product, and brand teams to shape the strategic direction of the design system.
Identify and implement operational improvements that enhance how the design system is managed and scaled.
Advocate for design principles, tooling, and best practices across cross-functional teams.
Automate design system workflows including component, token, documentation, and asset generation processes.
Build capability in AI-assisted design workflows and embed AI tools into day-to-day design system operations.
Establish responsible AI guidelines and coach designers on effective AI adoption.
Champion accessibility by auditing and testing components and tokens for WCAG compliance.
Define, monitor, and report on design system health metrics including adoption, coverage, consistency, and accessibility.
Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable components that teams enjoy working with.
