Job summary

Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking a UX/UI Designer (Design System Operations) in South Bank, QLD to evolve a multi-brand design system and drive adoption across teams. You will partner with UX, engineering, product, and brand stakeholders to implement scalable design system governance and AI-driven enhancements.

The role focuses on automation, accessibility, and metrics-driven health checks to ensure consistent experiences across products.

Qualifications

3+ years of design experience.
Experience leading a design system or contributing to a mature system.
Advanced proficiency in Figma.
Experience using Storybook within design system environments.
Strong understanding of design systems governance and scalability.
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude in design workflows.
Experience using metrics to benchmark and improve design system performance.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and WCAG compliance.
A solid understanding of front-end engineering principles.
An undergraduate degree in Design or Engineering with design experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance a scalable multi-brand design system (components, patterns, tokens, guidelines).
Drive adoption of the design system through workshops, documentation, and usage guidance.
Collaborate with UX, engineering, product, and brand teams to shape design system strategy.
Identify and implement operational improvements for design system management and scaling.
Advocate for design principles, tooling, and best practices across teams.
Automate design system workflows including components, tokens, documentation, and asset generation.
Build capability in AI-assisted design workflows and embed AI tools into day-to-day operations.
Establish responsible AI guidelines and coach designers on AI adoption.
Champion accessibility by auditing and testing components and tokens for WCAG compliance.
Define, monitor, and report on design system health metrics (adoption, coverage, consistency, accessibility).
Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable components.
