We appreciate our peoples' courage, curiosity and unique perspectives, and look to collaborate as much as possible to explore safer, smarter and more efficient ways of working in this rapidly changing world. We don't stand still - there are always opportunities to do more and do better.

What's on offer?

Garfield Road East Upgrade is one of the key transport infrastructure upgrades supporting growth in Sydney's north-west. The project will transform the existing corridor into a safer, higher-capacity road network, improving travel times, accessibility and transport connections for the surrounding community.

Key project works include:
  • Expansion of Garfield Road East to four lanes
  • New and upgraded intersections along the corridor
  • Improved walking and cycling connections
  • Bus priority measures to improve public transport reliability
  • Upgrades that increase network capacity and reduce congestion
  • Improved safety and accessibility for the local community

To support the successful delivery of this significant project, we're seeking an experienced Utilities Manager to join our Eastern Region Construction (ERC) business in NSW. In this leadership position, you'll oversee utility management strategies, coordinate complex authority interfaces, and drive utility relocation, protection and adjustment works to support project outcomes.

This is an opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, work closely with utility asset owners and key stakeholders, and influence project delivery from planning through to construction. You'll be empowered to identify and mitigate utility risks, optimise project outcomes, and contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient and commercially successful infrastructure projects.

How you'll connect to the role?

To be successful in this role, you'll bring extensive experience in utility management within major infrastructure, civil, transport or construction projects. You'll have strong stakeholder engagement skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to lead teams through complex project environments.

We're looking for someone who can also demonstrate:

  • Proven experience developing and implementing utility management strategies on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of utility coordination across water, sewer, electrical, gas, telecommunications and transport authority assets.
  • Experience managing utility asset owner relationships, including Sydney Water, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Jemena, Telstra, NBN and local councils.
  • The ability to manage utility consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience coordinating utility investigations, relocations, protection works and service proving activities.
  • Strong understanding of authority approvals, design submissions and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven capability in identifying, managing and mitigating utility risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen with experience in procurement, subcontract management, negotiations and variation assessments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering and project teams.
  • A commitment to safety, collaboration and delivering successful project outcomes.
