Job summary

MYKARE' is hiring a Disability Support Worker to assist high-needs participants with daily living, mobility, and personal care in a compassionate, person-centered manner. The role emphasizes safety, dignity, and community inclusion, with morning shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will hold required screenings and certifications, have a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate empathy, strong communication, and calm professionalism in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check is required or ability to obtain it.
• Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable vehicle are required.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate required.
• Qualifications in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support are highly regarded.
• Australian work rights are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive personal care including daily hygiene, showering, grooming and dressing.
• Provide mobility assistance and transfers including hoists, slide sheets and ambulation.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation and maintaining a safe living environment.
• Support participants in social inclusion and community activities.
• Provide person-centered care that promotes autonomy and reduces anxiety.
• Follow safety protocols and PBSP plans and maintain accurate progress notes and incident reports.

Urgent Hiring : Disability Support Worker

MYKARE is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. We are committed to providing personalized care and support to individuals living with disabilities, helping them to live independently and participate actively in their community.

In this role, you will be supporting participants with high-needs, focusing on promoting functional independence, dignity, and a high quality of life.

What You'll Be Doing

• High-Needs Personal Care: Deliver comprehensive personal care, including daily hygiene routines, showering, grooming, and dressing.
• Mobility & Transfers: Implement safe, assisted transfers and daily mobility assistance, including total assistance for repositioning and ambulation.
• Daily Living Assistance: Facilitate daily self-care routines, including meal preparation and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized living environment.
• Community Inclusion: Facilitate social inclusion, connecting participants with their local community, social outings, and preferred hobbies/goals.
• Person-Centered Support: Provide respectful, calm, and professional care that reduces anxiety and upholds the participant's autonomy and decision-making.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to authorized care plans, safety protocols, and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, objective, and timely progress notes and incident reports.

What We Are Looking For

Female in their 20's with Genuine empathy and a passion for supporting people with disabilities.

Available for Morning routine Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Experience in high-needs support, specifically manual handling (hoists, slide sheets) and complex personal care.

Understanding of Person-Centered Care principles.

Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful in challenging situations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to safety and following Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP).

Requirements

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain).

Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable vehicle.

Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Relevant qualifications in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support (highly regarded).

Australian work rights are legally required for this position.
