Job summary

AECOM in Melbourne is seeking a Professional Urban Planner to join the Urbanism & Planning team. You will work with urban planners, designers and engineers on development and infrastructure projects, supporting reports, due diligence and approvals.

The role offers hybrid work options and opportunities to grow technical and professional skills across transport, energy and major projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town or Urban Planning with 2–4 years of professional urban or environmental planning experience.
• Experience supporting planning assessments, due diligence reports, and development applications for large projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications; GIS knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support planning projects and assist directors and project managers with planning reports and approvals.
• Coordinate planning assessments for large-scale transport and energy projects.
• Undertake policy reviews and analysis to inform planning strategies and approvals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver planning inputs for major approvals.
• Contribute to fee proposals and bids to generate future work.
