The Midfield Group is hiring unskilled meat workers for immediate start in Warrnambool, Victoria. Roles involve packing, carcass handling, and general cleaning in slaughter facilities. Must be reliable, physically fit, and able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable and physically fit.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow hygiene and safety procedures.
• Must have the right to work full-time in Australia (38 hours/week).
• Willing to pass drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment medical if required.
• Q Fever vaccination or willingness to participate will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Pack meat into boxes or bags.
• Marshal carcasses and cartons into refrigeration and shipping areas; manual lifting involved.
• Maintain clean slaughter floors and boning rooms with tools.
• Assist with removal of hides, fore & hind hocks from carcasses; manual and mechanical.
• Attach shackle chains and lift carcasses as part of the slaughter process.
• Remove tails using a knife.
• Fold pre-cut cardboard and insert liners into cartons.

We have positions available for immediate start, within a stable work environment forUnskilled Meat Workerswith no experience in meat processing based in Warrnambool, Victoria.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Packing of meat into boxes or plastic bag
• Marshaling of carcasses and carton into refrigerator, freezers and shipping container, manual lifting required
• General tidying up slaughter floors and boning rooms, by using shovels and brooms
• Assisting with removal of hides, fore & hind hock from carcasses, manual and mechanical
• Attaching a shackle chain around the rear leg of a cattle and lifting carcasses forelegs into cleats in the slaughter chain
• Removal of animal tail by using a knife
• Folding pre-cut cardboard into a carton and insert plastic liner

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

• You must be reliable, physically fit and willing to work as part of a team
• You understand the importance of good hygiene, attention to detail and following procedures
• You must have the right to work full-time in Australia (38 hours/week)
• You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required
• You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.
