Job summary

Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo seeks a passionate Ungulate Keeper to join our team, delivering daily care and welfare for iconic large mammals and contributing to enrichment, safety, and conservation storytelling.

You will work within a close-knit team, communicating Taronga's conservation messages to guests while maintaining high welfare standards and a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with large mammals.
• Strong understanding of animal behaviour and safety protocols.
• Capable communicator to connect guests with conservation work.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality animal husbandry and welfare in line with Taronga policies.
• Ensure welfare standards and the 5 Freedoms are maintained.
• Communicate Taronga's conservation messages to inspire guests.
• Deliver excellent guest experiences to promote repeat visitation.
• Work as part of a high performing team.
• Support enrichment planning and habitat maintenance.
