Job summary

Greysilver is seeking an experienced Financial Lines Underwriter to join our Sydney CBD team. You will underwrite and manage a portfolio focusing on D&O and FI exposure, working closely with major broking houses to negotiate terms and grow the book.

You will develop broker relationships, assess risk submissions with technical rigour, and collaborate with underwriting, claims and distribution to deliver strong outcomes in a market-facing role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' Financial Lines underwriting experience, ideally with D&O and/or FI exposure.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Financial Lines risks, with a focus on D&O and/or FI exposure.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships across the major domestic and global intermediaries.
• Negotiate terms, pricing and policy structures on new and renewal business.
• Assess risk quality and exposure on submissions, applying sound technical judgement.
• Contribute to portfolio performance and growth targets in line with the team's business plan.
• Collaborate with colleagues across underwriting, claims and distribution to deliver strong outcomes.
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements and competitor positioning across Financial Lines.

The Role:

Our client is a global specialty insurer with a strong and growing presence across the APAC region. Following sustained premium growth and continued investment in their Australian platform, they are seeking an experienced Financial Lines Underwriter to join their team in Sydney CBD.

This is a market-facing role with genuine scope to grow a book of business. You will work alongside a high-calibre team and engage directly with the major global broking houses, including Marsh, Aon, WTW, Lockton, Howden and Gallagher.

The business is well-capitalised, profitable, and expanding. The right candidate will have room to develop their portfolio, build their market profile, and progress within a business that is clearly on an upward trajectory.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Financial Lines risks, with a focus on D&O, and/or Financial Institutions.
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships across the major domestic and global intermediaries

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' Financial Lines underwriting experience, ideally with D&O and/or FI exposure
• Strong broker relationships and a credible market profile
• Demonstrated ability to assess, price and negotiate complex risks
• PI experience will also be considered for candidates with a strong Financial Lines foundation
• Commercially minded with a genuine appetite to grow a book of business
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively with both brokers and internal stakeholders
