Job summary

Sojitz Blue is seeking an experienced Undermanager to lead compliance and operational performance at our underground coal mine. You will ensure MOS and SHMS adherence, support the Underground Mine Manager, and drive safe, efficient shift execution.

The role requires a current Queensland Undermanager certificate, proven underground mining experience, and strong leadership with effective stakeholder communication across the site.

Qualifications

• Undermanager certificate (QLD 1st/2nd Class) and underground coal mining experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate personal compliance to all elements of the Mine Operating System (MOS) including disciplined planning, delivery, accountability and urgency.
• Establish and maintain statutory compliance to relevant legislation and the Sojitz SHMS across the mine.
• Supporting the Underground Mine Manager to Control and manage mining activities being undertaken at the mine on the appointed shift.
• Ensure the smooth operation of shifts ensuring statutory compliance within relevant legislation.
• Monitoring daily and weekly mining plans and ensuring plans are executed to the highest possible standard.
• Lead, coach and mentor ERZ Controllers / Deputies and other coal mine workers.

About the Role

The Undermanager is responsible for monitoring statutory compliance with current mining legislation and the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate personal compliance to all elements of the Mine Operating System (MOS) including disciplined planning, delivery, accountability and urgency.
