Job summary

Glencore’s Ulan West site seeks an experienced Training Officer to join the Health, Safety and Training team. The role focuses on coordinating underground training and competency programs across the site, supporting operations and ensuring compliance with training standards.

You will develop and deliver training, maintain records in the LMS, and work with supervisors to ensure crews are trained and authorized for tasks. This is a hands-on, field-based position at the Ulan West mine in NSW.

Qualifications

• Underground mining and training experience.
• Relevant training and assessment qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining equipment and competencies.
• Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Practical and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across roles and departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, delivery and assessment of underground training and competency programs.
• Conduct on-the-job training and competency assessments per Training Needs Analysis.
• Maintain training records and LMS requirements.
• Manage Permits to Train and monitor progression to competency sign-off.
• Work with supervisors to ensure crews are trained and authorised for allocated tasks.
• Ensure training materials and assessments stay current with legislation, codes of practice and site procedures.
• Provide practical and technical support to operations.
• Assist with pre-starts, toolbox talks and training-related meetings.
• Support continuous improvement of site training systems and processes.
