Job summary

Norton Gold Fields Limited is seeking an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor to lead the underground crew and drive daily targets through shift planning. You will manage task assignments, safety checks, and resource coordination to ensure efficient, safe operations.

The role requires a strong background in underground mining development, production operations, and plant/equipment maintenance, with WA-specific statutory knowledge and essential tickets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor.
• Proven experience in an Underground Shift Supervisor role.
• Strong understanding of underground mining development and production operations.
• Knowledge of mine planning, mining engineering and geology.
• Experience with underground mining plant and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Solid grasp of statutory requirements for WA underground mining.
• WESTERN AUSTRALIAN Underground Shift Supervisors ticket (essential).
• GSDU/NPC clearance (essential).

ABOUT THE ROLE

As theUndergroundShiftSupervisorisresponsibleformanagingtargetssetdailyby theUndergroundMine Foreman.Thisiscarriedoutbymeansof generatingshift plansthatcorrectlyassignresourcestoachieve thesetargetsina timelymanner,andtoensurethatprioritytasksareset-upinsucha wayto ensurethattheyareeffectivelyandefficientlymanagedonthenextshift

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage leave of mining crew review applications, complete approvals within a timely manner.
• Advise mining crew of company announcements at prestart meetings.
• Coordinate and assist with the facilitation of information/training sessions as appropriate.
• Maintain and support a positive department, site and companyfocused culture that makes Norton Gold Fields a safe and preferred place to work.
• Utilise, improve and maintain systems and procedures for effective management of underground mining operations.
• Provide significant input into theorganisation and operational efficiency of Norton’s Underground Mining department.
• Effective leadership of the underground crew including context setting, task assignment, performance monitoring, coaching and informal performance reviews.
• Health andsafety performance withinthe underground crewand areas of accountability, including risk assessment and control integrated into all activities.
• Environmental performance against target within the underground crew activities and areas of accountability.
• Efficiency and care in use of equipment and resources by the underground crew.
• Performance in execution of role accountabilities and tasks assigned.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience as a shift supervisor with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
• Proven Experience in an Underground Shift Supervisor Role
• Sound understanding of Underground mining development and production operations.
• Sound understanding of mine planning, mining engineering and geology.
• Proven experience and of Underground mining plant and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Good understanding of statutory requirements, underground mining (Mining Safety and Inspection Act 1994 (WA) and, Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (WA)).
• Western Australian Underground Shift Supervisors ticket(essential)
• Satisfactory GSDU / NPC clearance(essential)
