Job summary

Mineral Resources is seeking a Safety Specialist - Underground to support the Mount Marion underground restart and ramp-up. The role is based on a 4D3X roster, flying from Perth, and works with operations, contractors and corporate teams to establish a safe system of work aligned with readiness.

You will lead safety initiatives, develop safety management systems, coordinate inspections and audits, and ensure compliance with WA mining legislation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
• Experience leading safety initiatives in underground mining.
• Strong incident investigation and reporting skills.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, contractors and corporate teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist underground safety leadership throughout restart and ramp-up.
• Develop and implement safety management systems aligned with readiness.
• Identify and manage risk with operations, project teams and contractors.
• Lead inspections, audits, and verification activities.
• Monitor compliance with WA mining legislation and site standards.
• Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop safe work procedures, training, and standards.
• Maintain project safety registers and statutory appointments.
• Support underground emergency preparedness and response.
