Job summary

Kestrel Coal Midco is seeking Underground Operators to join our high-performing team at the underground coking coal mine in Queensland. This permanent role covers development, longwall, and related underground work, with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

You will work 7/7 on a lifestyle roster, with housing or accommodation support if needed, competitive pay and incentives, and opportunities to grow through the Unleashed Leadership Program and study assistance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months in an underground coal environment as an Operator.
• Current Standard 11 (surface and underground) or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to safety, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery safely to meet production targets and site requirements.
• Prepare, plan and execute daily work in line with weekly schedules.
• Complete daily shift reports, including inspections and equipment condition.
• Safely operate a range of underground equipment per site procedures.
• Demonstrate willingness to undertake labour-intensive tasks in underground conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with a skilled team to achieve production outcomes.
• Lead by example in safety and contribute to site-wide safety standards.
