Job summary

Macmahon is recruiting an underground Nipper for its Goldfields region team. You will support jumbo operators, assist with ground support installation, and help manage underground consumables and logistics.

Ideal candidates have prior underground experience, can handle a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, and understand underground safety regulations. Attendance and punctuality are essential, with strong fatigue management encouraged.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an underground Nipper.
• Ability to cope with a fast-paced, physically challenging environment.
• Detailed knowledge of underground mining and safety regulations.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to manage fatigue and hydration throughout shift.
• Working at Heights, Dangerous Goods Security Card and First Aid Certificate (Highly desired).

Responsibilities

• Assist jumbo operator with installation of bolts and mesh for ground support.
• Collect, deliver and assist installation and ground support consumables.
• Assist mining teams by supplying materials and ensuring efficient work processes.
• Transport personnel and equipment safely underground, often using light vehicles and other equipment.
• Manage stock and supplies in underground storage areas, ensuring they are accounted for.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks to keep the work environment clean and safe.
• Keep track of happenings around the mine to ensure smooth operations.
